A window locking mechanism also known as an espag is located inside a UPVC window sash and can only be seen when the Window sash is opened. The mechanism is operated via a window handle which causes small locking points called mushrooms or shoot-bolts to engage into keeps fixed to the frame which in turn secures your window closed.
